A Bridge Between History, Culture, and Memory
Where the past inspires the present.
Our Mission
Connecting France and Canada through remembrance, culture, and creativity.
Vimy House connects France and Canada through meaningful cultural experiences — from guided walks and cycling tours to collaborative events rooted in remembrance and heritage.
Rooted in Givenchy-en-Gohelle, at the foot of the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, our mission is to help people explore the landscapes of the Great War, reflect on their meaning, and remember the stories that continue to shape us.
Through experiential learning, cultural dialogue, and creative exploration, we seek to keep the past alive in a way that honours both history and hope.
Chapter 1
The Land and its Legacy
The hills and forests surrounding Vimy tell stories etched in the soil — stories of courage, loss, and renewal.
Every path, every field, carries the quiet echo of the past. Our tours invite visitors to experience these landscapes not as distant history, but as living memory.
Over time, nature has softened the scars of war with farmers’ fields, woods, wildflowers, and the rhythm of the seasons.
This land still speaks, through echoes of battle, and through the harmony of wind, stone, and remembrance.

Chapter 2
The Spirit of Connection
Vimy House was created to bring people together — Canadians and French, travelers and locals, artists and historians — in shared curiosity and care.
Each encounter, each story, adds a thread to the living fabric of remembrance. What unites us here is the desire to understand, to create, and to keep the dialogue between past and present open.
Through this spirit of connection, memory becomes a bridge — shaped by listening, creativity, and exchange.
We work with universities, cultural institutions, and local partners to encourage dialogue, develop ideas and build projects rooted in remembrance and built to last.
Chapter 3
A Path Forward
At Vimy House, memory is explored through the experience of place — on foot, by bicycle, or aboard our vintage Méhari.
We offer guided routes and are developing Franco-Canadian programs that bring together researchers, artists, and creators around memory, heritage, and landscape.
Here, remembrance is lived in the present.
“Every time I walk the fields and forests at Vimy, I feel history breathe. My goal is for you to feel it, too.”
— Valerie Bince-Stuart, Founder – Guided Experiences at Vimy House

A Symbol Rooted in Remembrance.
Two tall columns of maple leaves rise skyward, mirroring the twin towers of the Vimy Memorial.
Each leaf—unique in its shape, shade, and size—reflects the diversity of the Canadian Expeditionary Force: people from different backgrounds, ages, languages, and provinces, united by a shared commitment.
The maple leaf dot above the “i” in Vimy House reflects a shared Canadian identity — one forged through courage, collective achievement, and the quiet heroism of individual sacrifice on the battlefields of the Great War.
The colour green anchors our logo and our mission. It honours the living landscapes that cradle Vimy Ridge and represents our commitment to green remembrance tourism — where memory and sustainability move forward together.
